ACMAL eTraining Introduction

This document is a publication of the Applied Chemical and Morphological Analysis Laboratory (ACMAL) at Michigan Technological University.  It is intended to provide refresher and supplementary training for researchers using the ACMAL facilities. ACMAL is a university facility that houses an extensive array of electron microanalytical and X-ray instruments. The Center is managed by the Department of Materials Science and Engineering and is located on the 6th floor of the Minerals and Materials Engineering Building on the Michigan Tech campus.

For whom is this eTraining Module intended?

• Researchers on campus who have taken or are taking the appropriate courses for learning the instruments.

• High school and undergraduate students who are learning about materials science and engineering.

What are the minimum requirements for accessing this module?

For the online version, broadband internet access and a recent browser are preferred.  Flash Player version 8 must be installed on any browser displaying the module. More information is available in System Requirements under Support.

The above modules are currently available.  Modules for the other ACMAL instruments will be made available in the future.  There are plans for creating a wizard which will enable researchers to choose the best instrument for their needs.

Who is responsible for the ACMAL instruments and eTraining modules?
